Abstract

The disease called fire blight is but one of several cultural problems facing apple growers in the southeastern portion of the United States. Since there is a diversity of susceptibility among available apple varieties (2, 3, 4), apple growers in areas of high fire blight incidence need to consider fire blight susceptibility when choosing varieties for planting.
