Pedicel growth patterns of ‘McIntosh,’ ‘Spartan,’ ‘Idared’ and ‘Delicious’ apples were studied for 3 years in 2 locations. Growth occurred very early in the season; final pedicel lengths were reached by full bloom and pedicel diameters by 3–4 weeks after full bloom. Pedicels of lateral flowers were longer than than those of king flowers for all cultivars. ‘McIntosh’ and ‘Spartan’ had the shortest pedicels while those of ‘Idared’ and ‘Delicious’ were longer. There were no differences among cultivars in pedicel diameter.
