Six highbush cultivars with varying flowering dates and fruit development periods were crossed in a diallel fashion to measure the heritability of flowering and harvest dates. Significant levels of general combining ability were observed for both of the traits, along with high levels of heritability. ‘Bluejay’ and ‘Spartan’ show promise as parents whicn can both delay flowering and hasten harvest.
