Pear Breeding in New Jersey

The first seedlings of the current New Jersey Agr. Exp. Station pear breeding program fruited first in 1957. The best trees were selected and used as parents for 1958 crosses. Seedlings from thesec ross~sa re now being tested for blight resistance at Purdue.
