A listing of Prunus species and botanical varieties of Prunus in botanical gardens and arboretums was first compiled in 1950, for use by those doing research with virus diseases of stone fruits. This list was brought as up-to-date as possible during the past two years. Efforts have been made to include most of the important Prunus collections, but it is quite likely that some have been unintentionally omitted.
