Abstract

Prof. F. L. S. O'Rourke, nut tree specialist, points out that in order for nut varieties to perform well in Michigan and other northern areas, they must meet the following requirements:

Be relatively hardy against winter cold.

Remain dormant in spring until frosts are over.

Mature their kernels in cool and short summers.
