The 1963 meeting of the American Pomological Society was held in Jackson, Tennessee, Dec. 11 and 12, together with the Tennessee Horticultural Society. Highlights of the business meeting are as follows:
Paul Howe Shepard Awardswere given to j. P. Overcash, of Mississippi State College, for his article, "Heat and Chilling Requirements for Plum Blossoming in Mississippi," in F. V. H. D., Vol. 17(2); and to G. M. Weaver, Dominion Research Station, Harrow, Ontario, for "Influence of Rootstock on Susceptibility of Peach to Peach Canker," in F. V. H. D., Vol. 17(3).
