The 83rd annual meeting of the American Pomological Society was held on Dec. 12 and 13, 1968, at Lake Delton, Wisconsin, together with Wisconsin Apple and Horticultural Council and the Minnesota Fruit Growers Association. Some of the more important items of business transacted were as follows:
Awards:
Wilder Medalsfor 1968 were awarded to the following men for their significant contributions in the breeding of stone fruits: (1)
Fred Anderson, private fruit breeder, of Medesto, California.
(2)John H. Weinberger, of the U. S. D. A. Field Station at Fresno, California.
